Through Innovative Teaching Grants, the LCPS Foundation supports educators to invent innovative and exciting educational programs that inspire learning and success. Teachers, principals, school administrators, social workers, counselors, ancillary staff can apply for grants (through an on-line portal) that benefit individual classrooms, or their entire school community.

Join us for Las Cruces Movie Night on Saturday, October 19, at New Mexico State University! Bring your friends, family, and neighbors for a fun night of nostalgia hosted by the NMSU Foundation.
NMSU will be screening the 2017 hit film Coco, the enchanting story of young musician Miguel and his extraordinary journey to the Land of the Dead, where he discovers the true meaning of family.
The movie starts at 7:30 p.m. at Pat and Lou Sisbarro Community Park, with local food trucks serving snacks and drinks starting at 6:00 p.m.

Congratulations to this year's LCPS All City Dance Ensemble dancers! These dancers auditioned on Oct 12 and were selected to work with professional choreographer Michelle Urban from Urban Movement Dance Academy. They will be performing in the 2024 Dance for All, All for Dance collaborative show!

Today the Las Cruces Home Builders Association hosted the fifth annual Build My Future Skilled Trades Expo event at the Field of Dreams.
Hundreds of LCPS students in middle and high school attended the event to learn more about the skilled trades industry.
Local contractors and skilled trades industry partners joined forces to help answer questions and provide hand-on learning for many jobs in the construction industry.

Congratulations to Luke Linnan, our LCPS student athlete of the week from MHS. Luke is quarterback for the Trojans; he is 34/65 with 540 passing yards, 5 TD’s, 340 yards rushing & 4 TD’s. Coach says he’s a great leader who motivates those around him with a champion's attitude.


Hats off to Charlotte Dennis, our LCPS student athlete of the week from Mayfield High School. Charlotte is on the varsity cross country team with a 5k PR: 23:46. She participates in HOSA, STEM and theatre. Her coach says she is responsible, trustworthy, and has strong integrity.

Thank you to our community partners from the Sprouts Foundation! The Las Cruces Public Schools Nutrition Services Department was awarded $10,000 from the Sprouts Foundation for child nutrition.
The money will be used to revive the school garden at Valley View Elementary and help children learn the importance of healthy eating habits. Students along with teacher participation will learn to harvest fruits and vegetables.
Students will learn about sustainable agriculture and the importance of nature. Social and emotional development will be promoted by helping students recognize a sense of place and belonging. #SproutingHealthyCommunitiesDay


Today, Mayfield High School hosted the AFJROTC 9/11 Memorial Ceremony. Community members and law enforcement agencies gathered to honor the men and women who lost their lives on that tragic day.
During the ceremony, the National Flag was presented to the MHS AFJROTC Honor Guard from Officer David Perez, ret. NYPD Officer assigned to NYPD during the attacks. Araelia Aizpuru, AFJROTC Cadet Captain spoke at the podium and Cadet 1Lt Riley Bowen led the Chaplin prayer.
Also in attendance, the LCPD Honor Guard, Las Cruces Fire Department, and the United States Army Herald Trumpets, Washington D.C. Sergeant Major Mike Cano.

September is "Be Bold Go Gold" Awareness Month, and we are honored to partner with SNM Families Fighting Childhood Cancer in supporting our LCPS students and families affected by childhood cancer.
To show our solidarity, we will be observing the LCPS Gold Out Week from September 3 - 6, 2024. The community is invited to attend the MHS vs OMHS football game at the Field of Dreams on Sept 6. Don't forget to be bold and wear gold on Friday!
